Find Us at Old Lodge Hotel

The Old Lodge, Old Maltongate, Malton, North Yorkshire, YO17 7EG

The Old Lodge is situated on Old Maltongate, a short walking distance from the town centre. The hotel offers ample and secure parking and is surrounded by a large garden, open fields and woodland. The setting is peaceful and ideal for relaxing after a hard day working or travelling.

From the South
From the A1M junction 45 take the A64 East, by-passing York, continue to the Malton exit. Follow this road to a set of traffic lights, straight over and we are approx. 200 yards up the hill on the right hand side.

From the North
From the A1 take the A61 to Thirsk, A170 to Helmsley then right onto the B1257 into Malton. Once in Malton turn left at the second set of traffic lights and we are approx 200 yards up the hill on the right.

Travelling by Rail or Bus
The 2 stations are next to each other, 5 minutes easy walking from the hotel. Cross over the Derwent river up to the 'T Junction'. Turn right and cross the traffic lights, heading up the hill. The hotel can be found 200 yards on the right hand side.

Sat Nav: Old Maltongate, YO17 7EG, but your Nav will probably take you to the Church that's next to us, just over our back garden wall. Once you're at the Church, go down to the main road (Old Maltongate) and turn right and we're about 100 yards on the right.

Frixo is a road traffic reporting site and it may be. It provides you with live traffic information and gets updated every 3 minutes using various road sensors.

What about delays on the A64?
If the A64 is busy coming from York there'll probably be a queue near the roundabout where te A64 goes from dual to single carriageway.

Sometimes this queue can be a long one......!

If the A64 is busy after the MacDonalds at Bilborough Top, it might be an idea to leave the A64 at this point and go across country, before you hit the queue. It's also quite a pleasant route through the countryside.

If you decide to do this it's easy- just follow the directions below:

Take the exit signposted the A166 towards Bridlington. Take the 3rd exit from the roundabout, signposted towards Stamford Bridge. Continue for approx 3.5 miles, until you pass a farmshop called The Balloon Tree. Take the next left, signposted Buttercrambe/Malton. Continue on country road for abour 12 miles. Turn left at the T junction (you're now in Malton) and then right at the lights and we're 100metres on your right.

Of course you can reverse these directions when you leave us to get back onto the A64 below the place where the queue is usually the worst.

We're hard to spot! Look for a beautiful, high, golden coloured stone wall, with a small gateway in it. The wall is ancient and protected by a preservation order!    Our Tel: 01653 690 570, Fax 10653 690 652
